Smart Sensor Technology (SST), a Spain-based company, was at the National Association of Convenience Stores (NACS) Show in Atlanta this October to present its Wireless Communication System that can be connected to different sensors in a fuel station. The communication system is designed to be placed in hazardous locations, which makes it perfect for fuel station applications.
The Wireless Communication System can be connected to different sensors in a fuel station, so it will be monitoring 24/7 without any cables or maintenance since it has batteries lasting for up to seven years.
The system was developed to be used with SST’s Leak Detection System, a sensor that will placed in the monitoring wells, sumps or dispenser bucket of any fuel station, monitoring the presence of hydrocarbons 24/7 during seven years with no maintenance, at a very competitive price and with a system that is easily installed (10 minutes per point). If hydrocarbons appear the system, will detect it and send an email alarm to the indicated person. The sensor detects the presence of hydrocarbons by a physical chemical reaction, avoiding false alarms that happen to be one of the uncomfortable issues of similar sensors. SST’s Leak Detection System allows 24/7 monitoring of any facility and will detect any leak at its early stage, avoiding enormous environmental problems.
